Our standards
Quality & Safety
Safety is not a slogan — it is a sequence of careful decisions, before, during and after treatment. All surgical procedures carry risks. Your surgeon will discuss the potential benefits, limitations and individual risks with you before you decide whether to proceed.

Specialist assessment
Every case is assessed by a physician in the relevant specialty before treatment is recommended. Assessment considers your goals, anatomy, general health, medications, previous surgery and psychological wellbeing. Sometimes the right advice is a different approach, a staged plan or no treatment.
Hospital selection
Surgery is performed at selected private hospitals in Istanbul according to the surgeon, procedure and theatre availability. Hospitals are expected to offer modern operating theatres, anaesthesia services, inpatient care and access to intensive care where applicable. Procedures that require general anaesthesia are not carried out in office settings.
Pre-operative testing
Before surgery you undergo tests appropriate to your procedure and health — commonly blood tests and, where indicated, an ECG, imaging or specialist review. Results are reviewed before surgery is confirmed.
Anaesthesia evaluation
An anaesthetist evaluates you before surgery, reviewing your medical history, medications and previous anaesthetic experience. For combined procedures, the surgeon and anaesthesia team decide together whether the planned operating time is appropriate for you.
Infection prevention
Hospitals follow sterile theatre protocols. Your surgeon will advise on skin preparation, whether antibiotics are indicated, and wound care after surgery. Stopping smoking well before surgery reduces wound-healing problems.
Thrombosis prevention
Blood clots (deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism) are a recognised risk after surgery and long-distance travel. Your individual risk is assessed, and prevention may include early mobilisation, compression stockings or garments, and in some cases blood-thinning medication. You will be advised on safe timing for your flight home.
Post-operative monitoring
After surgery you are monitored in recovery and on the ward by hospital staff. Observations, pain control, fluid balance and wound checks continue until you meet discharge criteria.
Discharge criteria
You are discharged only when your clinical team is satisfied — for example, that your observations are stable, pain is controlled with oral medication, you are mobile and you understand your aftercare instructions.
Emergency communication
During your stay in Istanbul you have direct contact with your coordinator, who can reach your surgeon. Clear instructions are given on what to do and who to call if a concern arises, at any hour.
International aftercare
Before you fly you receive a discharge summary and a recovery plan. Remote follow-up continues once you are home, with scheduled reviews and a route to raise concerns. In an emergency abroad, local emergency services should always be contacted first.
